Thread Lifts is a new minimally invasive technique offering a subtle and natural looking lift. This non-surgical procedure re-defines facial contours and induces natural collagen production.
Thread lifting is ideal for anyone looking to lift and tighten loose and sagging skin on the face and neck without having cosmetic surgery. This non-surgical procedure re-defines facial contours and induces natural collagen production. Threads can be used to lift and tighten the upper and lower cheeks, foreheads, jawline, neck, jowls, naso-labial folds and marionette lines on the face.
Furthermore, threads can be used in the nose to create a higher and defined nose bridge. This is frequently used in combination with fillers to create the best result in Asian patients who have a flatter and less defined nose bridge than their Caucasian counterparts.
Thread lifting is a new minimally invasive technique offering a subtle and natural looking lift which can generate collagen and elastin with the effects lasting typically 1-2 years. They may be combined and compliment many existing modalities with very few contraindications and side effects, and minimal down time. The use of threads shows visible results of rejuvenation and stimulation of as much as 100% new collagen. Studies confirm increased skin rejuvenation, skin lifting, increase in volume, and an improvement in skin wrinkles.
Although threads can be inserted almost anywhere, one area where they are especially effective is the neck, jawline and brow. The lower third of the face is challenging to treat effectively with botulinum toxin or injectable fillers, which are most effective in the upper and middle third of the face, respectively. Threads provide an immediate lift to sagging or flat area and also induce the production of collagen to create a natural and lasting facelift.
Silhouette Soft threads are a popular treatment in Europe and the USA and are made of Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA), the same material found in Sculptra. PDO threads are the rage in Korea. Both types of thread lifts have a proven safety record and can be used in combination to tackle a wide range of concerns.

The procedure involves the administration of numbing injections, followed by the insertion of threads in the area to be treated and takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes for the whole treatment.
This treatment can last depending on the area being treated, the type and the total number of threads used. Although results can be seen instantly they gradually get better over time and are at their peak 6 months later when collagen has formed around the threads. Results generally last between 1-2 years. Yearly follow-ups are an ideal way to optimise the effects, requiring less intervention on the subsequent visits.
There is minimal downtime from the injection site marks. Mild aching and swelling may occur over the treatment areas and these usually subside within the week.
